Hasty, tasty leftovers!
According to the 'Love food, Hate waste' website, each UK household throws away around £430 a year on food, yet most of it was still in date and perfectly edible! So, if you over cater on the haggis, read on for some delicious wallet-friendly tips. Allow left over haggis to cool properly, put into a sealed container and store in the fridge for no more than 48 hours.
If it's a tasty breakfast you're after, try frying the haggis (traditional or vegetarian) which can be mixed up with left over mashed neeps and tatties to make an interesting hash. Or try fried haggis and onions - a favourite of Clarissa Dickson Wright. Haggis on hot buttered toast is sublime, as are haggis potato cakes and haggis tattie scones. |

For brunch try pepping yourself up with a haggis tostados filled with salsa, sour cream, chillies and fresh coriander. And a simple supper can made with haggis in a baked tattie, along with baked beans! |
