This key role is aimed at an experienced operationally focused Technical Manager. To join us and lead the technical and quality team across the site taking full responsibility for ensuring the compliance, legality, quality and safety during the production process.
As Technical Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and will play a key role in implementing and driving the technical strategy for the business.
Team Macsween are full of bright ideas and you will be key to leading the document control function and the quality checks within the factory. You will play a key role in implementing and driving the technical strategy for the business.
In order to do this, you will need to:
Managing the Technical and Quality Standards – maintaining product quality, legality, authenticity and safety.
Managing the sites pre-requisite programmes – HACCP, TACCP, Internal Audits, Customer Specifications, NPD, Pest Control, Supplier Approval, Supplier Services, Hygiene and Training.
Being responsible for all customer and regulatory site audits whilst engaging and developing relationships – BRC, Customer Audits, SEDEX, Plan A.
Ensuring that the site meets all labelling law along with legal compliance of all food directives.
Managing staff KPI’s whilst acting as a figurehead for change and improvement and promoting a technical culture across the site
You must have a Technical Management background from within the chilled food sector, have extensive experience in HACCP, quality management systems, retailer experience and ideally be educated to degree level within a food discipline.The type of person that would suit this role will be strong, positive, with role model behavior and be able to respond quickly in a fast moving, challenging environment to deliver solutions. Also be able to drive change throughout the manufacturing environment.
You must have the following:
• Minimum of five years experience, working within similar roles in the food industry
• Experience of managing a team and influencing managers and colleagues
• Strategic knowledge of running a technical team
• Departmental budget control experience
• The experience of working with the major retailers and knowledge of internal and external audits
Hours of work – 8.00am – 5.30pm
