Veggies love haggis

The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009

Best Vegsoc Approved Convenience Food Winner announced

Macsween Vegetarian Haggis has been named the Best Vegsoc Approved Convenience Food for 2009.  Macsween fought off tough competition from four other products to win at the Vegetarian Society Awards in London on 29th October 2009.

Jo Macsween, Director of Macsween said:
“This is a wonderful way for our vegetarian haggis to celebrate its 25th birthday.  We are so proud of its success and also feel that it is fitting to have won in the same year that we reinvent the category again with the launch of our unique 1-minute traditional haggis.”

Vanessa Brown Head of Corporate Relations for the Vegetarian Society said:
“Many people wouldn’t think veggies would want to eat haggis but Macsween’s Vegetarian Haggis is a different matter. Not only is it a great talking point, it’s delicious, and is brilliant for special occasion feasts or an everyday meal.” Jo Macsween at The Vegetarian Awards

The other nominees shortlisted in this category were: Cauldron Cumberland Sausages,
Tesco Vegetarian Cheese and Leek Sausages, Goodlife Fairtrade Nut Cutlets and Linda McCartney Sausages.

The Vegetarian Society Awards 2009 winners were announced last night at the Magic Circle Headquarters in London. The evening was hosted by Wendy Turner Webster, broadcaster and author, and patron of the Vegetarian Society.  This is the Vegetarian Society Awards’ ninth year and guests came from across the UK to celebrate the very best in vegetarian food, catering, and lifestyle, highlighting to the nation those companies and services which make life better for vegetarians in the UK.
